MHA of the Palm Beaches (formerly MHA of Palm Beach County)

About This Affiliate
MHA of the Palm Beaches serves the local community through three program areas: Clubhouse, Peer Support and Youth Mentoring. Clubhouse offers people living with mental illness opportunities for friendship, employment, housing, education and access to medical and psychiatric services in a single caring and safe environment – this social and economic inclusion reverses the alarming trends of higher suicide, hospitalization and incarceration rates associated with mental illness. We have two Clubhouse locations in Palm Beach County following the Clubhouse International model and standards.

Individuals who have lived experience with a mental health condition and progressed from illness to recovery are called “peers.” Peer support helps people become and stay engaged in the recovery process through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment. Peer Place is a peer run drop in center that provides a safe space with art and wellness activities. We are a CRPS training and testing site. Our Peer Career Readiness training prepares people in recovery who wish to join the peer workforce for the state certification exam. We also partner with our local Public Defender's Office to provide peer support and case management to the misdemeanor mental health court.

Stand Firm Outreach and Dads on Duty are partnerships with Crossroads Academy, a local alternative school in Belle Glade working directly with at risk youth have suffered trauma and lack strong male figures in their lives.
